Christine – February 1, 2013:
Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart, for your dedication, service and sacrifice. And for the ultimate sacrifice given of your bretheren. And thank you for sharing your amazing story with the rest of the world!
This book is, by far, the best organized and most well-written book I have ever read! I am anxious to read Service, as I know it will be just as moving.
God Bless you!

This Book is amazing. I read it in a single sihft at work. I have not read a book since college and You will not put this book down. I have since read American Sniper by Chris Kyle may he RIP. Seal of Honor and numerous others. I recently Purchased Service and Will be reading it soon. I work for my local Fire department and the other shifts have started to poke fun at our so called book club that was started because of this book. Thank you for your service and may god bless.

This book is absolutely one of the best if not the best I have read. I am a firefighter in Georgia and a friend of mine told me I needed to read this book. I started and literally could not put it down….then I read Service….great follow up to this book….I then read Seal Of Honor……another great read….I am now in the process of reading Chris Kyle’s book, “American Sniper”… All I can say is all the grace and honor to all the fallen involved in these books….and God’s strength to you Marcus Luttrell….. God bless you and your family…..

Lone Survivor is a fascinating and inspiring story. Anyone who has the slightest appreciation for military life – and especially battlefield sacrifice – will laugh, cry, and strive with Marcus throughout the book. It’s an honest portrayal of extreme sacrifice. Like Ernest Shackleton’s book South, Lone Survivor doesn’t embellish – there’s no need. The bare facts are more thrilling than any fiction could be.

This book was riveting, and very emotional. For someone who usually holds back the tears at all costs there was more than one occasion in which i was getting the pages wet. After seeing American sniper my curiosity about the seals was peaked. I read Breaking Buds, The Warrior Elite, The Finishing school ,and of course this book. Watched Buds class 234 documentary twice and cant get enough of these dedicated, unselfish, no quit guys that are cut from the finest cloth we humans got. This book validates why Seals are trained they way they are, Hell Week and Seal training in general may seem very extreme ,and it is, but that training helped save this mans life, True American Heroes his team Fighting their asses off until the bitter end whacking out half that crew with only 4 guys, incredible. Thanks for your Service Hooyah!
